Landon Belnap

I just took sweet Maya's pictures, and the day after, Landon Belnap. I am so glad I had Maya first, just to get me back into the groove of things. Little kids are pretty easy, you can't really go wrong. Grown children, teenagers in fact, are a bit harder. It seems that they want to look perfect, and hopefully you can achieve it.

Landon was my first senior. I'm doing a couple more this summer, but I am so glad that I started with a boy. Less pressure. Pretty much boys get their pictures taken for their mothers, or in Landon's case his mother and only sister. So he was pretty easy too. There is only so much you can do with a boy, pose wise. So I was feeling a little redundant. But, with the change in scenery I don't think that it was too noticeable.

I was also very happy because Landon's mom was talking to my assistant (Jordan..teehee) and told him that I was very professional and did a very good job. It makes me blush a little. But I am so happy to hear it. I later did hear that they loved their pictures too. Hooray! A little self esteem booster for me:)

I can't wait to do Kaylie's senior pics this summer. I'm bringing out the big guns.

Anyways...

Here are some of favorites.

Maya

When I haven't taken pictures for a while, sometimes I feel like I loose my sparkle, my touch. And with certain recent events, I haven't even wanted to take random pictures of my child. I had two different people ask me to do pictures for them. Little did they know, that I have kind of been dreading it. Which is crazy. I love taking photos of people. I feel like I have been in a little bit of a funk, and I felt like I would never get out of it.

Well along comes little four year old Maya. She is probably one of the prettiest little girls I have ever seen. It does help that she absolutely loves Hallie. Every time we see her she always plays with Hallie. So maybe I am biased a little, and also because she is my niece.

Moving on....

Like I said I have been kind of dreading pictures. I feel like I have had no inspiration. I also get down on myself because I don't have all this nice equipment I want that make my photos look the way that I want them. And because I am always looking at other photographers websites and looking at professional pictures, and so on. It's quite easy to get down on yourself.

I am so glad that I shot Maya. I felt so smooth and calm the whole time. I didn't even have to think hard to pose her. It just flowed so naturally. She was being awesome. Giving me the cutest faces, and the biggest smiles. It was probably one of the best shoots I have ever had. Plus, I loved all the photos. I didn't even have to edit them very much. Maybe I am just getting better at taking pictures. I am so happy how they came out and I hope her mama like them too!

Here are just a couple of my favorites.

Prom

Oh no. Not my prom. That was ages ago. My little sister, Kaylie, had her prom a couple weeks ago and it was such a fun experience to be apart of. I am mainly writing this post to all my Margene's friends, becuase I want them to see how gorgeous she was in a Margene's dress. Also because I am so proud of my little sister!

A couple weeks ago my family came up to Idaho. While here, we went prom dress shopping. I pretty much knew the only place that we were going to find something was Margene's (I used to work there). We went a couple other places just to see what they had, and pretty much walked in and out. No one had as nice of dresses for the quality or price that Margene's did-or anything really modest.

When she put on the dress at Margene's she was just stunning. Seriously I think our mouths hit the floor. Of course, she tried on all the ones we picked out for her. But she ended up with the very first one she tried on. Funny how that happens. I was just so proud of her for picking such a beautiful, modest dress. It helps that the dress was absolutely gorgeous.

Flash forward a few weeks, and I flew out to Colorado for a week. I was there on the Saturday my little sister had prom! It was such a fun day. All the girls (Mom, Erin, Me, Kaylie, and Megan!) got out nails done. Then we rushed back to the house to do hair and make-up.

Kaylie's friend Katie and Vanessa came over so we could glam them up too. I was in charge of hair and Erin was in charge of makeup. I did my own hair for a couple of dances and I was always in charge of curling for cheer, so I knew I could somewhat do hair. I was so nervous though. Kaylie is kind of picky. She picked that day what she wanted done, so I was hoping I could do it.

Not to brag or anything, but I am seriously so proud of the hairdos I accomplished. So if you need me for weddings/dances/proms or anything let me know :)

This is Kaylie's friend Katie, I did her hair!

This is the hairdo that Kaylie wanted me to copy.

This is how it turned out:
