This year Jordan's family decided to do a Christmas Party. All the siblings were going to be at the "other side" of their families this year, and Jordan's parents were going to be in Maine, so we all got together on the 22nd to celebrate Christmas together.
It was such a blast. Everyone made a breakfast dish. I made blueberry breakfast cake, it was really good... but I might be biased. We all wore our pajamas. Wearing your comfy clothes... who can turn that down? We talked and ate, and all the kids ran around screaming and playing. It was really a fun get together.
The best part was after eating we dressed up all the kids, and Grandpa Blair read a Nativity story. Hallie was an angel. It was the cutest thing ever. I just wanted to keep taking pictures of her because she was so adorable. When we put the wings on her, she could see them out of the corner of her eye, so she kept turning in circles, like a dog trying to catch his tail. I couldn't stop laughing. All the kids looked great, and all the little girls that were angels were patting Baby Jesus while Blair read the Nativity.
After the Nativity, all the kids got to open their presents from grandma and grandpa, and the families opened their gifts from one another. Spencer and Hillary had us and gave Hallie a baby stroller (which she has pushed around all day since she got it). The best part was when she opened it up she went, "OH! Wow!" and immediately started playing with it. They got us Bohnanza. This game is fabulous. If you haven't you should play it.
We also gave Hallie her "big" presents that were from us. We couldn't carry them to Colorado and back so we gave them to her at the gift opening. We got her a kitchen, and her own chair. She loved them both. It was so exciting to get her a present and have her love it immediately. Instant gratification as a parent.
It was such a great get together. I'm sure there will be some kind of tradition that is being started now for every year.
